How to open and upgrade your Asus ExpertBook P2451F DDR4 RAM and NVMe SSD

Welcome back to the ToxicNerd blog or if you are here first time then welcome! In this tutorial we will find out is upgrading your Asus ExpertBook P2451F possible. You will see what components can be upgraded (if any), how to open up this machine, and a closer look at the internal components such as Wifi card, Battery, Solid State Drive and many other bits. Let's dive right in!

Preparation and Disassembly

To begin the upgrade process, you will need a standard Philips screwdriver, im using this 57 in 1 screwdriver kit, it’s a handy tool for other jobs as well (link below). The back panel of the Asus ExpertBook P2451F is attached with several screws, all of them are same length so no need to separate them. Once the screws are taken out, use a plastic tool or your fingers to gently remove the base panel. Do avoid using anything sharp made out of metal (knife, flat head screwdriver etc.) to prevent damage to your laptop or to your delicate fingers. See image below when back panel is removed, have pointed out the location of the SSD and RAM slots:

Internal Components Overview

Good news is that most of the internal components are totally upgradable on this Asus ExpertBook P2451F. Both DDR4 RAM and NVMe SSD can be upgraded. Before you ask, CPU(Processor) can not be removed and upgraded, it is soldered to the motherboard.

Upgrading RAM and Solid State Drive

This laptop has 16GB of RAM, your laptop can have more or less then 16GB, some models will have different specs. Same goes for SSD, this machine has 256GB at the moment. You can easily upgrade the RAM by replacing the existing 8GB sticks with 16GB ones, increasing the total DDR4 RAM size to 32GB. Also you can swap out the 256GB solid state drive for a larger and faster 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus drive for more storage. Will leave links below for both RAM and SSD if you are interested using same ones i used in this tutorial.

Finalizing the Upgrade

After installing the new RAM and NVMe SSD, you will need to reassemble the laptop by securing the base panel with screws you removed earlier. Remember to reconnect the battery before attaching back panel of the laptop. Once you are finished with upgrading, reinstall Windows to ensure proper functionality. If you only upgrading or changing RAM then there’s no need to re-install operating system again.

Checking System Specifications

Now you can boot up the laptop and check the system specifications just to verify that the new RAM is working and it is 32GB. Some laptops you can see info about RAM and HDD in bios but you will confirm presents of the SSD when you start installing OS. Also when booting your laptop first time after upgrade expect little delay before system identifies new components.. If its takes more than 2-3 minutes and you still have blank black screen then open laptop again and re-seat the RAM sticks.

In conclusion, upgrading your Asus ExpertBook P2451F is straightforward process and most definitely improve the performance of your laptop. By following these steps, you can enjoy a more efficient and powerful computing experience. I do recommend watching our video about upgrading Asus ExpertBook P2451FA.
