Upgrading the Dell Inspiron 3591 Laptop: A Step-by-Step Guide

Upgrading my Dell Vostro 3591 to 1TB NVMe SSD and 32GB DDR RAM

In this blog post, we will walk through the process of upgrading the Dell Inspiron 3591 laptop, will have a look at the components that can be upgraded also will give you detailed instructions on how to do so(Hopefully). Opening Up the Dell Inspiron 3591

To begin the upgrade process, you will need a standard Philips screwdriver (link below if you are interested in 57 in 1 screwdriver what i am using. Start by removing all the screws from the back panel of the laptop. Exploring the Components

Once you have opened up your Dell Inspiron 3591, you will find various upgradeable components(happy days):

  • Battery: Easily identifiable with a serial number if you need to replace it.
  • RAM Slots: Two slots with 8GB each, totaling 16GB.(Your laptop might have more or less)
  • CPU: A 10th generation Intel Core i5 processor. Same as above, could be different CPU in yours.
  • Solid State Drive: A 256GB drive, upgradeable to 1TB or more for extra storage.
  • Wi-Fi Card: Includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities.

Upgrading the Components

RAM Upgrade

  • Remove the existing DDR4 RAM sticks and replace them with higher-capacity ones.
  • Consider upgrading to 32GB for improved performance, especially with Windows 11.

Solid State Drive Upgrade

  • Upgrade to a larger capacity SSD if more storage space is needed.
  • A recommended option is the Samsung SSD 970 Evo Plus for enhanced speed but i is totally up to you.

Closing Up and Testing the Upgrades

After upgrading the components, ensure to reconnect the battery so you wouldn’t have to open you Dell laptop once again:). Close the laptop by gently pressing the back panel until it clips into place. Reinsert the screws and power on the laptop. Goes without saying that before you can start using your laptop again you will have to re-install Operating System again.

Verifying the Upgrades

Check the system properties to confirm the successful upgrades:

  • RAM: 32GB capacity functioning without issues.
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 10th generation processor.
  • Device Manager: Verify the new components are recognized by the system.
